This donation based class is a gentle, restorative, accessible and trauma-informed offering for grounding in challenging times. Both movement and mindful will be presented. This eight-week program encourages intentional anti-racism work through a multifaceted approach rooted in mindfulness, education, and action. This program is rooted in multiple perspective including the work of Ruth King. The program includes discussion based work through Racial Affinity Groups. Psychoeducational programming will address a variety of relevant topics including how racism is ingrained in systems (education, criminal justice) as well as how we can best equip ourselves to do the work of anti-racism in a way that is sustainable and impactful. Educational components will address both theory and practice. All work will be rooted in self-inquiry, mindfulness practices, and embodied movement.

Session: Mindful Anti-Racism: A Call for Social Justice.
This workshop will take a mindful approach to anti-racism work. Exploration of systemic injustice will be rooted in breath and mindful movement. Participants will explore how disparity and injustice are rooted in systems and learn why it is important to recognize the impact of trauma in exploring systemic injustice. Participants will focus on resilience building in addressing injustice and racism. Find more information here.
